Brett Young unveiled new details about his fourth studio record on Wednesday (April 9).

The California-born country star said he’s “very excited to announce I have a new album coming out. It’s called 2.0, and it drops June 13. But I don’t want to make you wait that long, so I have a new single coming out on Friday (April 11). It’s called ‘Drink With You,’ and I hope you all dig it.” Young followed his announcement with a sneak peek of “Drink With You,” which he previously teased on social media after debuting it during live performances. He teamed up with songwriters Jesse Frasure, Tony Lucca and GRAMMY Award-winner Emily Weisband to write the soon-to-debut anthem. It's described as “a pedal steel-stamped struggle of resisting alcohol-induced romantic temptations,” reads a press release issued Wednesday morning.

“Drink With You” will be Young’s latest single to release since “Tastes Like You” arrived earlier this year. Young previously explained “it was difficult for me to drink whiskey for a couple of years when me and my wife were separated before we got married.” He invited his social media followers to share any food item, drink, place, or anything else that they associate with another person in their lives in a late February post. Young is also known for “Dance With You,” “Mercy,” “Lady,” “Like I Loved You,” “Here Tonight” and other career-spanning hits.

2.0, an 11-track album produced by Jimmy Robbins and Dann Huff, also includes tracks written with respected songwriters Ashley Gorley, Jon Nite, Justin Ebach and others. The project also includes a collaboration with award-winning trio Lady A, a collaboration with “Mind On You” hitmaker George Birge, and a new duet version of Young’s heartfelt 2017 ballad, “In Case You Didn’t Know., with Hannah McFarland. Young, a father of two young daughters, also shares a precious glimpse of the life-changing moment he became a father with the song “Full House,” notes the press release.

“It’s always my goal to be real and transparent and connect with my audience, whether that means writing a song about what happened yesterday or revisiting past experiences,” Young said in a statement. “It should always be about a connection with the listeners. 2.0 feels really special to me, and I’m very proud of it. I hope it makes people want to come out and see the live show even more.”
