Popular Dessert Recalled Across Texas Poses 'Life-Threatening' Health Risk

Dessert Holdings LLC recalled its Target brand Favorite Day™ Gourmet New York Style Cheesecake 6oz/2ct on Wednesday (March 19) due to the undeclared presence of a common allergen.

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled product, distributed to Target stores across five states (including those in Texas), contains "undeclared pecans" which poses the risk of a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" to individuals allergic to the ingredient not listed on the product labels.

Consumers should avoid Target brand Favorite Day™ Gourmet New York Style Cheesecake 6oz/2ct products with Lot code 25028A1 000039133 and UPC 0 85239 09690 1.

There have been no allergic reactions reported as a result of consuming the mislabeled product. Officials are urging consumers who have already purchased the recalled product to throw it out or contact Target Guest Relations (via phone number 800-444-0680) for return information.

The company assured that the "issue has been corrected and no other manufacturing dates or lots are impacted."
