SAN ANTONIO – Dedicated to supporting the youth of Texas in educational and agricultural goals, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo announced its annual educational commitment of $11,510,950 million at the Annual Life Membership Meeting held on May 16, 2017.

Executive Director and CEO Keith Martin said, “Today marks a proud moment as we make this educational commitment. Everything we do during the Rodeo and at our fundraisers throughout the year comes back to generating money to educate new generations of Texans. The $11.5 million we are committing this year is a result of a very supportive community and all of the countless hours our volunteers devote to help us drive our mission.”

Since inception, over $186 million has been committed to educate Texas youth. More than 7,500 Texas college students have benefitted from a San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Scholarship. Currently, there are approximately 1,500 active scholars that attend Texas colleges and universities. The funds are raised through events as well as the annual Stock Show & Rodeo and are awarded in the form of scholarships, grants, endowments, junior livestock auctions, student western art auction, calf scramble program and show premiums.
