Firefighters spent a smoky half hour extinguishing a fire in the office of a used car lot on the city's south side, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Firefighters got the alarm about 2AM Saturday in the 3700 block of Pleasanton Road.

When they arrived, they found the office building on fire, and their way inside blocked by burglar bars.

By the time they managed to get in to fight the fire, it had badly damaged the building, and sent out smoke that could be seen throughout the area.

Nobody was in the office at the time, so arson investigators will determine the cause of the fire.  Nobody was hurt.
