The murder trial of a man accused of setting fire to his own business, resulting in the death of a fireman, will start sometime next year. Emond Johnson reportedly set fire to his gym in 2017, and the blaze spread to other businesses. San Antonio firefighter Scott Deem died fighting the fire, and Firefighter Bradd Phipps was seriously injured. Investigators say Johnson started the fire because he was behind on his rent for the gym and was about to lose his lease. No jury trials are happening right now because of the pandemic, so the trial is expected to start early in 2022.
