The Alamo Colleges District plans to forgive student loan debt for eligible students in response to the pandemic. Officials announced that the district will forgive student loans acquired between March 23rd of last year and June 8th of this year. The college district will pay the debts in full with funds provided by the federal government for pandemic emergency aid. Chancellor Dr. Mike Flores says this past year has been hard on students, and he hopes the debt payoff will help them and their families.
