Kane Brown's Grandfather Dies At Age 65

Kane Brown's grandfather, Stephen Allen Brown, died at age 65 on Friday, September 11. According to his obituary, Stephen, who was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, North Georgia, died in a local hospital.

Stephen is described as a "loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather that will be truly missed by all who knew him." He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Stephen is survived by his wife of 17 years, Edy Brown, his daughter Tabatha Brown, his grandchildren Kane Brown and CJ Cordell, great-grandchildren Brayden Cordell and Kingsley Brown, brother Johnny Brown and sisters Wanda Sue Campbell and Linda Morrison.

Brown has not commented on his grandfather's death. A memorial reception is planned for Stephen on Tuesday, September 15. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

This Wednesday (September 16), Brown will take the stage at the Grand Ole Opry House to perform his single, "Worldwide Beautiful" during the ACM Awards. This year’s ACM Awards were rescheduled from the original Las Vegas date in April due to the coronavirus pandemic. The three-hour show will broadcast from three iconic venues: Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.

In addition to Brown, other performers taking the Opry stage include Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton featuring Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Mickey Guyton and Morgan Wallen. Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Riley Green, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett featuring Jon Pardi, Tenille Townes will perform at the Ryman.

Additionally, Jimmie Allen, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert featuring songwriters Natalie Hemby and Luke Dick, and Tim McGraw will perform at The Bluebird.

Fans can tune in to watch the show live on Wednesday, September 16 at 8PM ET on CBS.
