Man, Wife And Four Young Children Found Dead

A man, his wife and four young children have been found dead in an SUV inside a garage at a home on the north side. The children were between the ages of 11 months and 4 years old. The family pets, two cats, were also in the SUV and were dead as well.

San Antonio Police had earlier evacuated the neighborhood in the 100 block of Red Willow near the intersection of Hardy Oak Boulevard and Wilderness Oak over fears of potentially explosive chemicals in the home. No explosive devices were found.

Police Chief William McManus says officers originally went to the house after getting a call on a welfare check. Once they arrived, the officers smelled a heavy noxious fume coming from the residence. On the door there was a note that was cryptic and included military jargon claiming there were bodies inside and not to enter.

After hours of investigation by the bomb squad and hazardous materials team, police were able to enter the home and found the six dead in the SUV.
