City and county officials are in agreement that quarantined evacuees at JBSA-Lackland should stay on the base and out of local hospitals. San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg said Wednesday that the Defense Department should conduct coronavirus tests on the 235 evacuees at the base, instead of at hospitals in the city. Nirenberg says he wants to be sure there's "zero exposure" to the general public. Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff expressed the same view on Tuesday and wrote a letter to Congressman Chip Roy voicing concerns.
