Police are looking for a suspect, and for several hours this morning they surrounded a home on the west side, after a man described as a state detention officer shot his neighbor, 1200 WOAI's Michael Main reports.
It happened in the 10300 block of Shady Meadows, which is near Marbach and Loop 1604.
It all began last night when what police say was a long running argument between the two men boiled over into gunfire, and the suspect shot the victim several times.
The man then ran off, and police moved in, evacuating several nearby homes and surrounding the house, believing that the man had barricaded himself inside.
But when officers entered the home they found it empty.
The suspect is on the loose and police say he is considered 'armed and dangerous.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
