It isn't often that a suspect calls 9-1-1 on himself, but that's what happened today on San Antonio's northwest side, Newsradio 1200 WOAI reports.

Sgt. Javier Salazar says police got a call from a man who lives near Zachry Middle School near Culebra and 1604, complaining that burglars were in his home and in his yard.

"He called in and indicated that he had burglars in his back yard," Salazar said.

But he says the man was behaving erratically, and waving around a gun.

"He was acting erratically in the estimation of the officers, so they started talking to him a little bit more, and they started seeing car parts laying around the yard."

Salazar says officers checked the VIN numbers and license plates, and found that all fo the vehicles were stolen.

The guy was operating a large chop shop in his house.

  He was arrested.

Salazar says officers don't think there ever were any burglars.
