Somebody in Boerne came 'this close' to winning the $600 million dollar jackpot in Saturday night's multi state Powerball lottery, but a million dollars isn't a bad consolation prize.

1200 WOAI news reports that a ticket sold at the Quick Pantry in the 900 block of North Main Street in Boerne matched all five winning numbers (10-13-14-22-52) but failed to match the Powerball number (11) which would have netted the winner a chunk of the $600 million grand prize.

"We're excited about the new Texas millionaire created as a result of the record setting Powerball drawing," Texas Lottery director Gary Grief said.

Plenty of Texans were trying their best to hit it big.  In the final hour of Powerball ticket sales Saturday night, Texans were buying tickets at a rate of $36,000 a minute.

So far the winner of the million bucks in Boerne has not come forward.  That person was the only Texan to win one of the million dollar second prizes.
