People searching for missing Garden Ridge woman Leanne Bearden say a woman 'who meets the description' of the 33 year old has been seen 'a few times' in Houston over the past several days, 1200 WOAI news reports.

The friends of the missing woman say they are 'thinking positively' and say Houston Police are taking the case 'very seriously.'

Bearden was last seen walking away from her in-laws home in the Metrocom suburb January 17th to go for a walk. Several exhaustive searches, including one on Saturday which included the Texas Rangers, failed to turn up any sign of the woman, and police say there is no evidence she was the victim of foul play, so they have suspended any official searches.

The friends of Leanne and the Bearden family have since hired prominent San Antonio private investigator Charlie Parker to head the search effort.
